Saturday, May 16 @ 12pm Sharp -3PM
Location: 1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester, MA, 02121. Starting at the parking lot of the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park (see map)
We are excited to welcome you to Grounded in Love, an event series led by Cole and Kanaya. We will gather for a nature therapy grounding activity and an exploration of the native plants that grow locally in the Franklin Park woods.
During the walk, we’ll engage with nature by slowing down and awakening our senses with a grounding meditation. We will learn about herbal medicine and identify herbs and "weeds" such as dandelion and plantain leaf that grow locally in our communities. We will make our own tea bags using a selection of herbs including: Dandelion Root, Echinacea, Elder Flower, Lemon Balm, Licorice Root, Mullein Leaf, Peppermint, Plantain Leaf and Red Raspberry Leaf.
We’ll enjoy the tea while sitting with the plants themselves, and share reflections to feel inspired by each other's experiences. We will have the opportunity to infuse tea made from them with spiritual intentions that we set during the experience. Together we will reflect on the meaning of love as it relates to the nature that surrounds us.
Please bring something to sit on if you wish, such as a cushion or chair, as well as a journal or notebook for reflecting if you feel inspired to :)
Originally, this post suggested bringing a mug.
That is no longer needed because we have mugs to share.
This event is open to people of all background levels with nature therapy and herbalism. Whether you are completely new to these modalities or a seasoned practitioner with wisdom to share, this event is for you (and as many friends as you can bring along).
All ages and stages are welcome as well, and if you have a companion animal who can remain calm during the event they are welcome too.
Please be sure to arrive right at noon or a little before. Because we will be walking, we don't want to accidentally leave you behind.
This event is complimentary. If you wish to donate you certainly can, and it helps amplify our future events. It is not expected at all. Your presence is what matters
If you would like to add this event to your calendar, you can do so here.
If you would like to sign up you can do so here for updates on weather rescheduling (etc) and to learn about future events in your area.
